setting aside stones

Something funny happened on my way to self indulgence .. a fork in the road became a fork on my plate. It’s true you are what you you feed yourself.. correction, you are so much more than you metabolize.. you are created and then set free to create yourself. You can’t really avoid yourself .. but oh how so many of us have tried.

Recently I’ve been listening to books and learning about the giving and loving I aspired to do, but wasn’t really doing because I lost myself trying to protect myself. Now it’s funny because I can see I was holding on to this or them and never taking care of me. My hands were too full of them or that to hold myself steady. It is not noble at all. I tried to tell myself it was but no, it was not.

I know there are stones in the road. I know there are fires in the forests, but this won’t keep me from them.. that is what I tell the child as I reach inward to meet him. Questions about why love isn’t love like you read about are met with start with yourself. Breathe and move your legs. One day young man you will know that love is a series of very honest and consistent actions.. and it will always begin with you. There will always be death and sickness but pay attention to those that find a way to see the sun through the clouds and the spirit inside your bones.. make a promise to find and be that person.
