They say when you come to the end of a certain path you either turn around and travel it in reverse, or you can forage ahead. The end of the civilized last few years or months or weeks is the end of the known and mapped history. It is marked with foliage and brush.

I didn’t expect to stay so low key. But it was a great departure from a more needy past. Even as we played drums and the drums play on and the smiles are left in the yard, the smoke reminds you to commune with the spirit group.. acting intrusive and bold..a bold intention and you can watch that dancing and howl out loud. Howling like that whale slapping the sea. This is ancestral communication.

So the light is the light, balanced with a notion of the shadow. An awareness of this notion and the connection with that alternative. The light is on your face. The light is shared. Happy birthday to us.

looking and reaching, now you can see yourself. its ok. embrace all that. The child you were before this moment, never needed to feel so much shame. maybe the boy you were7 years old stealing your mother’s jewels, maybe he wanted someone to treat him the way she treated the man that brought them to her.

talking about it now is no rescue. happy birthday to us. this light is the light..
