I wanted to respond to this with a arm full of admonition, but I am only struck with empathy, curiosity and sadness. On a very personal level, alot if these sayings were passed to me by my grandmother, a survivor of Jim Crow and the reason I learned to appreciate and respect the faith of others far before I learned my own faith. Some of these saying are said to provide comfort where there simply is none. Submitting to sovereignty and atonement are core beliefs in the Christian faith. Are you Christian, is the church you started Christian? Even cliched sentiment can be sincere. Thanks for your post, it certainly hit me in my heart, which is where all things begin. Take care
