Recovery is full of surprises and God has an amazing way of providing the ink for the next story. Recovery is discovery they say and I discovered my sister has a natural way of talking to the child in anyone. She paints the picture well enough for even this mind to see.. I’ve been blind to her power.. she is my sister . She remembers the child I was and maybe… she’s been holding this love and those words for most my life. Therapy can come from the girl you walked to school with, the girl that fought with you while also fighting for you. She would fight anyone for me..

At the first one hundredth of a mile past a half mile, your stride is improving now you can sense the next quarter mile will be easier. Inside the mask slips down your face and the sweat is in your eyes but finally and cathartically that last quarter erases memories .. almost like sex but more like a sermon.. impactful.. it isn’t how they react anymore. I am impacting myself and I get to keep the impact.. sharing it in small doses. The mask is a county mandate to make sure we don’t share too much.

Shopping with some people is like shopping with a child. Things you never intended to buy end up in the cart. I’m not selfish but I don’t need five types of rice grain almost chocolate Shetland wool sweater popsicles(nowwithflax!!)... so this gratitude moment in recovery is about taking back the shopping experience.
